Leslie Tucker Jenison

Leslie’s art is focused on making contemporary quilts and mixed media pieces. She employs surface design, using dye and paint which are integral components of her work. Photography frequently informs her designs, literally or by way of inspiration. Much of her work is inspired by the natural forms she’s found in places she’s lived or traveled to. Her work has been shown internationally and has been the recipient of numerous awards. It is held in museums, corporate, and private collections. Born and raised in Northeast Kansas, she has lived in South Texas for the past 29 years. She has been a full-time studio artist for the past 25 years. The experience of dyeing and printing the cloth and paper used in her constructions create a dynamic in which she can freely experiment and ask her favorite question, “What If?”. The creative process allows her to respond to personal and wider public issues using abstraction to express herself.
