Émilie Trahan
Émilie Trahan is a Quebec textile artist whose practice centers on improvised quilting. Her work emphasizes the upcycling of everyday textiles (sheets, pillowcases, tablecloths, clothing, etc.), much like the origins of patchwork. Through this connection with the past and with the very fabric of our lives, she seeks to reveal her intuitions of the intangible, immaterial world—the one hidden behind our sensory perceptions. Her abstract language is conveyed through intertwining curves and organic forms. Quilts, like poems, to sketch the fibers our the universe.
